Here’s a quick self-assessment to see how different situations affects you.
Without a Will the law sets out who gets what in a very strict pecking order meaning spouses get the bulk with children getting a much smaller share. Unmarried partners get NOTHING.
But your children's share could be part of your home and they could force your partner out of it, or cause them to need a mortgage
Surely that won’t happen… really – imagine a child divorcing and their share of your home being something for the divorce solicitors to argue over!!!
WE CAN EASILY AVOID THIS FOR YOU.
If you die first your new partner will inherit most of your estate and your children probably won't get anything from your partner's own Will. This is called sideways disinheritance. If you've married your partner your mariage will have revoked all existing Wills.

There is no such thing as a common-law spouse.
Cohabiting couples are are entitled to NOTHING via the laws of intestacy.
WE CAN EASILY ALLOW YOUR PARTNER TO INHERIT.
When you marry (or remarry) the Marriage Act revokes your Will, automatically making it null and void. The laws of intestacy mean most of the inheritance goes to your spouse, not your children! The intestacy laws can be very cruel, and don't give anything to step-children or cohabiting partners!

If in future you lose capacity your account will be FROZEN, even joint accounts. Without an LPA it takes many months to sort via the courts and costs around two thousand pounds.

EVERYONE over 18 should have LPA's.
